Mannum Museum, in conjunction with the Mannum City Council, held their inaugural festival in November of 2014.
The Artist Blacksmith Association South Australia was involved in putting on a display of blacksmithing for the visitors and we managed to gather the largest collection of blacksmiths for the event. We had our own members along with our friends and colleagues from around Australia.
The event ran over two action packed days and featured small wooden boats, stationary engines, and steam traction engines. All of this surrounded with the smell of burning coke fuel and heavy hammers striking yellow-hot iron.
The weather gods smiled on us as we forged and demonstrated our traditional skills over the two-day event.
The Mannum ‘All Steamed Up’ Event is held in November Bi-Annually. This is an event not to be missed.
